When looking for a Driving Instructor, people usually ask the same sort of questions. To help you, I have a list of the most common questions and my answers to them.

Can I be collected and dropped off at a different place other than my home address?

Of course as long as you let me know beforehand.

What is meant by Piggybacking and do you do that?

Piggybacking is where your lesson finishes and the next lesson's student drives you home as part of their lesson. We never do this; your lesson is on a one to one basis.

Will I lose my lesson fee if I cancel?

Many driving schools require 48 hours notice for cancellation, we however only require 24 hours notice, less than this and you will be liable for the lesson fee.

Will I be charged if the driving instructor cancels my lesson?

We realise the importance of keeping regular appointments throughout your learning experience, however, on the rare occasion that we may have to cancel your appointment we would give you as much notice as possible and you will not be charged.

Will I be shouted at if I do something wrong?

Absolutely not, we treat all pupils with respect and would never do anything to undermine them or affect their confidence.

Will you provide a car for my practical test?

Yes the car that you learn to drive in will be available for your practical test.

Can I use my own car for my lessons and practical test?

Yes, as long as your car is roadworthy and fully insured for the purpose.

How many lessons will I need?

This is a question that can't be answered! No two people are the same and the amount of lessons required will vary depending on any previous driving experience and the progress you make in your lessons. We will never keep booking lessons for people that are ready for their test if we feel they are not required.

Can I take pass plus after my test?

Yes, we are registered to provide pass plus training and fully recommend that all our pupils take this.

How long will my lesson last and how often will they be?

That's your choice, most people have a one-hour lesson each week but this can be increased depending on your requirements.

Can I start my driving lessons before I pass my theory test?

Yes, you can, and probably should, as the practical experience will help you understand the questions and answers contained in the theory test. Likewise what you study for the theory test will also be very helpful in your practical lessons.

Can I learn to drive in an automatic car?

Of course you can but we only provide tuition in a manual car.

Do you provide intensive driving lessons?

We as a school feel that the amount of hours driving experience required to pass a practical test cannot be covered in a short period of time and therefore would only recommend that pupils complete a maximum of 10 hours of lessons in a one week period. Obviously this would be dependent on a pupil's previous driving experience and availability and is therefore recommended that you telephone to discuss individual requirements.

If the Instructor arrives late due to traffic will my lesson be cut short?

No, you will always receive the lesson duration that you have booked and paid for.
